Alkoomi is a third-generation family-owned winery where the vines meet the horizon and life slows down. Just 500m from the cellar door, our two charming chalets offer one of the only places to stay in the Frankland River Wine Region—and one of the most peaceful. Surrounded by rolling hills, native bushland, and established vineyards first planted in 1971, the Jarrah and Wandoo Chalets are cosy, self-contained retreats. Each sleeps up to seven guests with two bedrooms, a spacious living area, and sweeping views across the farm—ideal for a secluded weekend, a creative escape, or a base to explore the region. Guests can wander over to the Alkoomi cellar door for a daily tasting—where owners Sandy and Rod often serve their wines personally—or relax on the veranda with a bottle of Shiraz and a Frankland River sunset. The chalets are just over an hour’s drive from Walpole. You're also 50 minutes from Mount Barker, Kojonup, or Manjimup and right along the scenic touring route between Albany, Bunbury, and Margaret River. Nearby, you’ll find bushwalks rich with orchids and wildlife, a quiet ski lake for weekend adventures, and a community café and country club offering hearty meals and local hospitality. Whether you’re travelling through or staying a while, Alkoomi invites you to unwind, reconnect, and experience life among the vines—authentic, peaceful, and beautifully remote.
Four comfortable and spacious 2 bedroom cottages fully equipped for 8 people. There is also a large bathroom, with a washing machine, a wood fire heated lounge room with DVD player /TV (movies only) and a fully equipped kitchen, with gas stove, microwave, medium sized fridge and all cooking equipment. Enjoy the gas BBQS on the large verandas and outdoor seating overlooking the farm dam and into the forest. Our quiet, peaceful, relaxing accommodation is a truly rural experience. Mornings can start with a free pony ride for children at 8.30 am, feeding the pets and chooks and collecting eggs (in season). Wild kangaroos, emus and many beautiful birds visit from surrounding forests. We provide complete tour packages of accommodation, food, educational materials and activities for students and special interest groups and retreats.
