Albany, is the oldest permanently settled town in Western Australia. Historic buildings, dating back to the 1830's establish a Western Australian heritage cityscape. The town of Albany is firmly situated in the Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar region of Noongar country. Noongar people have lived here since creation times. Denmark is located in the Southern Noongar region. Noongar is the name for the original inhabitants of the south-west of Western Australia dating back over 10,000 years.
We acknowledge the Noongar people who are the traditional custodians of this land and pay our respects to Elders, both past and present.
We acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to this region.
