Denmark is beautifully set in tree covered hillsides along the Denmark River and the Wilson Inlet.
A relaxed environment and friendly people make it a perfect place to stay. Home to 5000 people this lovely south coast town has a village feel and it is a very popular tourist destination.
There are walks and trails all around Denmark including the world class Bibbulmum Track, one of the world's great long distance walking trails stretching nearly 1000km. Follow the Mokare Heritage Trail along the Denmark River or head out of town and walk to Tower Hill a stone formation overlooking William Bay National Park.
The main street is Strickland Street which is filled with shops offering a great range of unique hand crafted artisan wears, eco friendly products, delicious food including the infamous award winning Denmark bakery!
The flamboyant riverside "Denmark Arts Markets" are held 3 times a year at at Berridge Park: Easter, Christmas and in the New Year, this is a GREAT day out as is very popular with locals and visitors alike. You may meet some of our local celebrities including the friendly and fun Gertrude Wellease and our recycle fairies! You will also meet our uplifting musician MC Miles Mitchell who shares the stage with a wonderful array of local musicians including our youth artists!
There are numerous other events throughout the year such as the Festival Of Voice, Brave New Works, the Christmas Parade, Denmark Village Theatre performances and Australia Day fun- this is a town filled with talented and creative people who love to celebrate life in as many ways as possible.
The quaint town centre is peaceful with no traffic lights, it artistically paved and painted and even the telegraph poles are colourfully creative! A host of wonderfully unique places to shop awaits you, as well delightful and delicious eating houses to dine in or take away gourmet.
The environmental awareness movement of the town has allowed Denmark to preserve its pristine nature. Much attention is given to cultural activities, exhibitions, performances and workshops for the local and visiting community.

The Noongar Aboriginals have been inhabiting this region for an estimated forty-thousand years and they call it "Koorabup" which means, "the place of the Black Swan."
Denmark is magnificent. A gem on the edge of the Southern Ocean, nestled amongst beautiful karri, eucalyptus, jarrah and tingle forests and set beside the winding Denmark River. White sandy beaches, great surf and tree-lined hills. Denmark is a special place to visit.

Denmark WA is surrounded by many beautiful beaches that will challenge your ideas of what beautiful beaches are like. Greens Pool and Elephant Cove in William Bay National Park are outstanding for their natural beauty. Ocean Beach and Lights Beach are great surfing, strolling and rock climbing. Prawn Rock Channel is popular in the middle of summer for a wave-less swimming experience. Every choice is a winner.

Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk and Ancient Empires Walk:
A magnificent walkway takes you into the canopy of Ancient Tingle Trees at the Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk. Truly amazing and worth a visit... The Valley of the Giants is the most visited place on the south coast. That's because of the Giant Tingle Trees and the architecturally designed pathway which takes you gradually into their giant forest canopy. At about forty metres, the view is breathtaking. It's not often you get to stand, head height, among these ancient giants.
The treetop walk is a series of lightweight steel trusses built on steel pylons to form a circut 420 metre long leading over a deep red tinge gully. As the gully descends, you ascend. It's a gradual climb into the treetops. The Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk, the Ancient Empires Walk and The Walpole Wilderness Discovery Centre is a must-see when down on the Rainbow Coast.
